Traditional, Old-Time, Celtic
Original Fiddle Tunes and Songs

We've picked, strummed and bowed our way through 30 years of music and dance in coffeehouses, churches, dance halls, barns, camps and homes, for private and community events. We've played in livingrooms, backyards, town parks, Grange halls, country stores, barns (w/horses and chickens!), be it on a stage, porch, living room, hay wagon, or the back of a pickup truck.
Why? We both grew up with music in our lives, and . . . well, we just enjoy playing together! And watching music we play affect people is a kick! If one person cracks a smile, dances a jig, or just moves a toe to the beat -- it's worth the moment. There's nothing like waching people react to live music -- react to something you've just created. To see someone walking down a hall, sidewalk, or just sitting....and then they hear the music. It gets into their feet, then works its way up to a smile.
From Duo to full Band . . .

(Gordon Creek @ Carney's/St Patrick's Day '07)
With the addition of other musicians on fiddle, flute, pennywhistle, bass, bodhran or banjo -- we can adjust to the needs of an event, or the whim of the mood -- as background music, concert or contra dance band.
We play with local contra dance bands The FireFlies Band and Tamarack, and the inter-generational famliy (sit-in) dance band, Tame Rutabaga. And then there's Gordon Creek (above), with a more Celtic/folk flavor. And "Dirt Road Molly" for that old-time, back porch, "deep in the holler" sound. Occasionally, we join other musiciasn to create "period" groups for local Revolutionary/Colonial and Civil War events.
If you've a hankering for dance -- contra, squares, circles, or folk dances from around the world (and for all ages) - we know a few good callers who can walk you through the moves, step-by-step, for a really fun night you, your family and your friends won't forget. You don't even have to know how to dance - caller and band will lead you through it all.
